A thoughtful, well-written nomination is essential. Here are some suggestions we hope will help you in crafting your nomination for consideration:

• Think about what makes your unsung hero special. Ask yourself: What makes my nominee unique? How did their act of kindness uplift me? What impact have they had on my life?

• Tell us about your nominee. Be descriptive! Share details! Take your time and write from the heart. Remember: What you share – in your own words – is the most important factor in your nomination.

Great question! Yocheved A”H grew up in Crown Heights and many of her family and friends still live in the neighborhood. Kindness is contagious! Our hope is that shining a light on the educators in this community who go above-and-beyond to show kindness to their students will strengthen our community schools and encourage even more acceptance in our schools. We hope that our children will act kindly, look for good deeds and feel motivated to share appreciation with those who’ve shown them care. And we hope to encourage people around the world to think back to their childhoods and recognize those unsung heroes who changed their lives through kindness. Your community can be our next location!  Please contact us for more information info@kindnessaward.com

Please make every effort to provide as much contact information as possible. We require either an email address or telephone number to contact your nominee if they are selected to receive an award.

There’s space at the end of the form to provide links with more information about your nominee. Please do not send additional material unless requested.

Please don’t. 🙂 One well-written nomination is enough. We discourage campaigns in support of one or more individuals, and the number of submissions on their behalf has no bearing on selection.

No. All nominations must be submitted online through our website.

When filling out your form, please note that certain information is required. Those fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

Each nominee will carefully be reviewed by our selection committee which includes educators, funders, community leaders and most importantly, members of Yocheved’s family.
