“Rivkah Wolf taught her the meaning of “Yes I Can!!” with practice and hard work in a positive environment we can overcome all obstacles.”

Each child is unique and deserves to be looked at individually.
My daughter started having difficulties with reading due to Dyslexia, at the very start of her school life. We reached out to Rivkah Wolf since we heard she is a reading specialist.
At that time, she was fully booked. She saw how desperate we were and said that she would be willing to come to school at 8 am in order to fit her in. I don’t know what she did to motivate my daughter to go to school an hour early!!
Even with the help of Rivkah Wolf the school started to insist that the older classes are more reading based and that my daughter should go to a special school. It seems because they are a very large school, it’s difficult to deal with children that have learning issues. In my opinion, this needs to change. Accommodations and meetings should be in place to understand each and every child.
Not all children with learning disabilities should be sent to a different school. Not all learning disabilities should be treated equally. Each child is unique and deserves to be looked at individually. This was a very stressful time for us. We knew our daughter, and we knew her struggles and strengths, and we strongly felt that she belongs in a mainstream Lubavitch school. We were lucky enough to have the help that we needed. Rivkah Wolf believed in my daughter and made sure my daughter knew it.
I felt that my daughter would grow the most socially and mentally in a regular school. Most Dyslexic children are very bright and talented and belong with regular kids that build their character, happiness, confidence, and self-esteem. This proved true for my daughter. To me these strengths are more important than getting good marks. That being said, it was also very important to us that my daughter know how to read so the world is open to her and she can succeed.
Rivkah Wolf, in her “free time” is constantly studying and researching techniques for helping children with Dyslexia. Rivkah, buys books based on my daughter’s interests and bring them to my house!! She makes sure she always has a book ready as soon as she is done with the previous one. She knows her favorite Ice Cream flavors and favorite candy and she also plays games with her to build trust and to give her brain a much needed break.
Fast forward 6 years later, Rivkah is still working hard daily helping my daughter grow. My daughter is now graduating 8th Grade. Her current teachers don’t know her full story, her struggles and how far she has come thanks to Rivkah Wolf. They just tell me how she is a model student, that she works so hard and is respectful and happy and a joy to have in class. Rivkah Wolf taught her the meaning of “Yes I Can!!” with practice and hard work in a positive environment we can overcome all obstacles. She believed in my daughter and made sure she never gave up. I owe it to Rivkah Wolf for making my daughter into a beautiful, hard working and confident teenager!!
