I was struggling with my mental health and suicide ideation when I was in high school. When Mrs. Faigy Yusewitz found out, she took me to the therapist I was currently (supposed to be) seeing. That night, she had me sleep over at her house until I could get the proper treatment I needed. I remember that night at her house like it was yesterday. It was so uncomfortable for her, but she knew that I needed it and didn’t hesitate to say yes. That intervention restored my hope in humanity and saved my life.
It’s been about 10 years since I was in high school and I’m still in touch with her.
